Guylaine Cosseron, the astonishing vocalist from France, is coming to Japan!
Together with drummer Naoto Yamazaki, she will perform with various improvisers across Japan.

In the Aichi edition, the lineup features Toshihiro Koike on trombone, exploring from delicate sounds to electronics, and Kyoko Tsutsui on the mysterious daxophone, a unique instrument played by bowing wood. Don’t miss it!

既存の枠にとらわれることなく、冒険的で実験的な探求者として自身のあらゆる欲求や衝動を従わせ、手の届くあらゆるものを隅々まで探求する。彼女の楽器は声だけでなく、息、唇、舌、口蓋、唾液、声門、喉、胸、ノイズ…つまり、あらゆる要素を総動員した全体的な歌唱法であり、めまぐるしい多様な音色を生み出し、尽きることのない探求の領域を切り開いている。

Her instrument is not just her voice but a holistic singing method that fully utilizes breath, lips, tongue, palate, saliva, vocal cords, throat, chest, and noise—mobilizing every element to create a whirlwind of diverse tones and carve out endless territories of sound exploration.

山㟁 直人　Naoto Yamagishi　- drums, percussion
音楽以前の音楽を探求し、日常からの音や流れから生じる“リズム、響き、間”を大きなうねりにのせ、あらゆる空間を音と共に旅をする。2011年、フランスのレンヌに移住。ヨーロッパでの活動を経て2014年に帰国。国内外、ジャンルを問わず様々なアーティストと共演、プロジェクトを継続する傍ら、ダンス作品や映像作品等の音楽も手掛けている。近年の参加作品としてはドラマシリーズ「七夕の国」など。2023年4月～6月、ドイツのミュンヘン市が運営する Artist in Residence Munich Villa Waldberta にミュンヘン市文化庁から奨学生として招聘。2024年1月にはダンサー細川麻実子とのプロジェクト ARU.にて舞踊家8名、音楽家6名によるダンスと音楽を対等に置いた作品「聞こえない波」を神戸 KIITO で創作し上演。 今一度ダンスと音楽の関係性を世間に問いかけた。

Naoto Yamagishi　- drums, percussion
Naoto delves into “pre-music,” weaving rhythms, echoes, and pauses born from everyday sounds and flows into a grand sonic journey that transcends spaces. After relocating to Rennes, France, in 2011 and engaging in musical activities across Europe, he returned to Japan in 2014. He continues to collaborate with artists from various genres, both domestically and internationally, while composing for dance and film projects. His recent works include the drama series “Tanabata no Kuni”. From April to June 2023, he was invited as a scholarship artist to Artist in Residence Munich Villa Waldberta, supported by the Munich Department of Arts and Culture. In January 2024, Naoto co-created and performed “Silent Waves” at Kobe KIITO with ARU., a project featuring 8 dancers and 6 musicians, questioning the relationship between dance and music once again.

古池 寿浩　Toshihiro Koike　- trombone
即興演奏によるセッション、および多彩な音色を用いたソロ演奏などを中心に、ジャンルを問わず独自のトロンボーン演奏を追求。近年はエレクトロニクスを用いた演奏も模索している。自己のトリオバンド・ふいご［中尾勘二（サックスなど）関島岳郎（チューバ）］では作曲も担当。その他にHOSE、中尾勘二トリオ、藤井郷子オーケストラ東京、などのバンドでも演奏を行う。現在名古屋在住。

Toshihiro Koike　- trombone
Toshihiro pursues a unique trombone style through improvised sessions and solo performances employing a wide range of tonal colors, crossing genre boundaries. Recently, he has been exploring the integration of electronics into his playing. He is also a composer for his trio band Fuigo (with Kanji Nakao on saxophone and Takero Sekijima on tuba). In addition to leading his own projects, he performs with bands such as HOSE, Kanji Nakao Trio, and Satoko Fujii Orchestra Tokyo. Currently based in Nagoya.

筒井 響子    Kyoko Tsutsui 　- daxophone
ドイツの音楽家・デザイナー Hans Reichel が発明した新楽器、ダクソフォンを演奏する。2021年、岡田利規 作・演出、内橋和久 音楽監督による『未練の幽霊と怪物一「挫波」「敦賀」ー』に、現代能における囃子方として参加。ダクソフォンによるソロアルバム『ey!』をリリース。sugarmountain（modular synth, vo.）とのデュオ「NARCO」、田辺舞（dance）、3CHI5（voice）とのトリオ「化ける身」としても活動中。人間対象の音楽だけではなく、神楽や生物の会話に関心がある。木が生きていた痕跡である細胞壁を弾き、音を響かせることに楽しさを感じている。

Kyoko Tsutsui　- daxophone
Kyoko plays the daxophone, a unique instrument invented by German musician and designer Hans Reichel. In 2021, she participated as a hayashi-kata (musician in Noh theater) in “The Ghosts and Monsters of Regret: Zaha/Tsuruga”, written and directed by Toshiki Okada with music by Kazuhisa Uchihashi. She released a solo album featuring the daxophone, “ey!”, and is active in various projects, including NARCO (duo with sugarmountain on modular synth and vocals) and Bakeru-mi (a trio with dancer Mai Tanabe and vocalist 3CHI5). Kyoko’s interests extend beyond human-centric music to kagura (traditional Shinto music) and interspecies communication. She finds joy in bringing life to the sound of wooden cell walls—traces of the tree’s life.
